My dear Annie,

finally I am back in California.  I left Paris on Sat., April 19
and arrived here in the evening.  It was exciting to return, especially
to see the children who Elisabeth brought to the airport.  Now, I have
much to do getting the center going and finding yet more money.

As it turned out I did not leave Marseille until the 18th.  I had gotten
the flu or some bug and was really not able to work the first days.  Then
Stanford called for me to return and I was very busy the last week trying
to get my programs work on the computer there.  I did and was relieved
as I wanted to accomplish something for Jean-Claude before I left.

I wonder how you are? working hard night and day?  I think about you
very often and hope that you are not working too hard.  Is your painting
going well?

I am now staying with Elisabeth and the children- there is an extra bed
in John's room.  All is calm and peaceful, no problems.  I do not know
whether or not to stay.  I will have to see.

I will begin doing experiments for my piece, althhough it will have to be
in the early morning when the load on the computer is not so great.
It is a nice time of the year to get up early in the morning as the days
are sunny and the dawn is magnificent (remember, Annie, what a sun is?
something that you do not see in Berlin).

Write when you feel like it- I will be happy to hear from you!!
